Replacing a boiler is always a very costly endeavour that many people are reluctant to undertake, however by taking advantage of a boiler grant you will save a substantial amount (if not all) of the money on this upfront cost. The homeowner or someone living in the property in question must be in receipt of one of the below benefits or the property must fall into the LA Flex criteria outlined.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the grant to replace your old or broken boiler, the boiler at the property needs to be a non condensing boiler, this type of boiler is usually over 20 years old (please see examples of non condensing boilers below) When we have received confirmation that you are grant-eligible, we will arrange for one of our Gas Safe registered installers to carry out a free no obligation survey on your property, once the survey is complete and the job is modelled we will let you know if the boiler is viable for replacement. Non condensing system boilers (heating systems with a hot water tank) and back boilers (heating systems connected to a gas fire) will qualify, if your boiler is a non condensing combi (a boiler that heats the water and heating) these are a more efficient heat source and as such sometimes they would require an insulation measure to be installed at the same time, this again would be funded under the ECO scheme.

Funded boiler installation

We know that especially in the cold, heating your home can be very expensive. There is nothing worse than when your boiler breaks down and you need to replace it. This could leave you out of pocket up to £4500 for a brand new boiler; however by making use of a heating grant we can help to reduce or eliminate that cost and supply you with an energy efficient boiler to help bring your monthly costs and carbon footprint down as well!

Who else is eligible and are there any limits to funding?

If you privately rent or own your property within England, Scotland or Wales and you or anyone in your household are receiving any of the benefits listed, then you may be entitled to government backed funded home efficiency measures.

Who is eligible?

LA FLEX CRITERIA ELIGIBILITY ROUTES

INCOME – combined gross income less than £31,000

Owner-occupied and private rented sector householders with a gross annual income less than £31,000 / this cap applies irrespective of the property size, composition or region and is from all sources of income.

NHS REFERRAL

Households in EPC band E, F and G and identified as low income and vulnerable, with an occupant whose health conditions may be impacted further by living in a cold home. These health conditions may fall under one of the four umbrella conditions:

A cardiovascular condition
A respiratory disease
Limited mobility or,
Immunosuppression.

Households under this route can only be referred by:

An NHS foundation trust
An NHS Trust
A Health Board
A Local Health Board
A general medical practitioner provider.
