FREE – Room in Roof insulation (RIR)
In simple terms a, ‘Room in Roof’ is a room that fits within your loft space with a fixed staircase leading to it.
Usually this type of room will have sloping ceilings, however this may not always be the case depending upon the types of windows used, such as bungalows with Dorma or Velux style windows. Please see examples below of different types of Room in Roof, if you require more information please contact our team.
To qualify for FREE RIR insulation – the property MUST be off the main gas grid and heated by either… Bottled LPG, electric, solid fuel or have NO central heating.
Attic rooms can be very cold & expensive to heat in winter, taking advantage of our room in roof insulation grant you will see a substantial saving on your energy bills
How is my room in roof insulated?
RIR insulation is installed by mechanically fixing and gluing insulated backed plaster board also know as PIR or Phirlonic Boards to your RIR’s existing sloped ceilings and internal heat loss walls, the job is finished off with the new boards being re-skimmed along with new skirting boards and window sills fitted, all work is covered by the grant and carries a 25 year guarantee.
The image below details all of the various areas insulated as part of the government backed energy funded grant.
